Welcome to our RAM TRUTH Series were we talk about the country's best built work truck.
Here is your Ram Truth #1
We provide our Diesel Customers with Lower Cost of Ownership and less required Maintenance with NO DEF
Unlike other trucks in the class, 2011 and 2012 Ram Heavy Duty pickups with Cummins diesel motors do not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). 2012 and 2011 RAM HD Pickups come equipped with an automated system that regulates diesel emissions according to EPA standards. Unlike other new trucks, which require monitoring and maintenance to their DEF systems to avoid performance degradation and refusal to start, our Trucks save our customers time and money.
All 2011 and 2012 RAM Heavy Duty Trucks with Cummins Diesel Motors have the following features:
Proven Cummins Diesel Power
Best-In-Class 22,750lb max trailer towing capacity
Unsurpassed 800lb-ft of torque at 1600rpm
Unbeaten 30k max GCWR
Best in class Exhaust Brake
Unsurpassed 5 year/ 100kmi powertrain warranty
Class exclusive diesel engine that meets EPA emissions standards with NO DEF
Here is some background on DEF
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), also called urea, is used by other companies in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to reduce harmful emissions. Using a mixture of water and automotive grade urea, DEF helps convert nitrogen oxide emissions in exhaust to water vapor and nitrogen gas. Unlike the competition, our RAM trucks meet EPA emission standards without using DEF. Our industrial chassis cab diesels do use SCR systems due to the different duty cycles and testing standards in that truck class. As always all our truck meet the strictest environmental standards while still producing class leading power.
